Hunter's Landing is what happens when a neighbourhood of glass towers finally gets a bar sized for it. The Landing Group's CityPlace outpost at 82 Fort York Blvd runs 250 seats inside, another 250 on a tree-covered seasonal patio, and a private mezzanine for 48 — numbers that make it one of the largest bar-restaurants south of Front Street. The location does double duty: it's the local for tens of thousands of condo residents, and it's a fifteen-minute walk from the Rogers Centre, which turns every Jays home game into a rush.
The programming is neighbourhood-bar honest: happy hour every single day from 3–5pm and again from 9pm to close ($8 wine, $7 premium draught, $9 cocktails per the venue), live music Tuesdays, trivia Wednesdays, half-price wine bottles Wednesdays, and weekend brunch until 3pm with an endless-mimosas option. The kitchen goes wider than it needs to — burgers and pizzas as the volume plays, a 40-day aged steak program as the flex, and a genuinely long vegetarian and gluten-friendly list.
What it isn't: a nightlife destination in the club sense. There's no DJ format, no dance floor, no door. The 2am close Monday through Saturday is the point — it's where CityPlace ends up after everything else, not where downtown goes out.
