Portland Square is INK Entertainment's answer to a question King West keeps asking: what do you do with a landmark corner building when the members-only club model runs its course? The 1901 heritage property at 600 King West spent its last era as Clio Social Club with Margo on the roof — exclusive, opaque, invitation-first. In July 2025 INK flipped the model: four floors, each a public-facing concept, designed by NIVEK REMAS with a different personality per level.
What's verifiably running: Primadonna on the fourth floor, an Italian-American room done up in mob-movie posters serving chicken parm and pizzas, with the rooftop patio above it — the old Margo space, and at roughly twice the height of Public Gardens across the street, the best vantage point on the corner. Honey Chinese on the third floor does contemporary Chinese in a room built around large-scale artwork and deep colour. The second-floor Portland Room handles private events and full buyouts.
What's still a question mark: Rodeo Dive, the ground-floor country-themed sports bar that was announced for fall 2025 and — as of this writing — is still listed as coming soon on the official site. That bar is the piece that would turn Portland Square from a restaurant stack into a genuine night-out stop, so its absence matters for readers of this site. The building also publishes no hours; every floor runs its own schedule, which makes a spontaneous walk-in a coin flip. Call ahead, book a floor, and treat the rooftop as the anchor.
Bottom line: book Primadonna or Honey Chinese for dinner, finish on the rooftop, then walk to the clubs — you're standing in the middle of all of them. Don't build a night around the country bar until the venue confirms it's open. As a dinner-first act on the strip's best corner, it already earns the reservation.
