  • Date nights and celebrations — the design is a real draw
  • Anyone who wants a hidden Latin-house club without leaving the building

Skip if

  • You want a quiet dinner — the music gets loud at peak

  • You need step-free access — the washroom is down a flight of stairs

Silent H is the upscale King West Mexican restaurant at 461 King West that hides a club called Aitch in the basement, in the same operational format as Cassius (eat upstairs, drop downstairs) with a tighter venue and a more focused Latin-and-house program. Open daily, which is unusual for a King West nightlife address.

Aitch downstairs is the smaller-room counterpart to Cassius's late floor — Latin and house, no formal guestlist, reservation-driven booking. The restaurant upstairs is real Mexican (not Tex-Mex) and is worth the dinner reservation in its own right, regardless of whether you go down to the club after.

Bottom line: date-night Mexican upstairs that converts to a Latin downstairs late — that's the move. Skip if you wanted a casual bar or a big-room dance floor. Book the dinner reservation; the rest follows.

How to get into Silent H

Practical tips for booking a table and getting into the Aitch club.

There's no guestlist — book a table
  • Silent H is reservation-driven, not guestlist-driven.
  • The simplest way in: book a dinner reservation for the restaurant upstairs.
  • For a table with bottle service — in the restaurant or down at Aitch — arrange it ahead.
  • Use the form on this page and we'll help coordinate either one.
Getting into Aitch, the club downstairs
  • Aitch is the basement club-lounge, reached through a discreet door.
  • It runs public DJ nights, generally Friday through Sunday, with DJ sets typically starting around 10pm.
  • Outside those nights, Aitch is available for private bookings — birthdays, corporate events and group buyouts.
  • Check whether Aitch is running a club night for your date before you plan around it.
Best timing for your night
  • For dinner first: book an earlier seating — the kitchen and the room are calmer, better for conversation.
  • For the nightlife: the upstairs room gets livelier as the live DJ builds, and Aitch downstairs runs later on club nights.
  • Friday and Saturday are the busiest; book ahead for weekend tables.
ID requirements
  • Valid government photo ID is required for the bar and the Aitch club — passport, Ontario driver's license, or Canadian provincial photo card.
  • Silent H is 19+ for the bar and late-night hours — Ontario's legal drinking age.
  • Photocopies, photos of ID, and expired ID aren't accepted.
Dress code
  • Silent H leans smart casual to dressy — the design-forward room invites guests to dress up.
  • For Aitch club nights, dress up — DJ-night listings ask guests to dress accordingly.
  • Skip athletic wear and overly casual outfits. Stylish, going-out attire fits best.
Groups, celebrations & private events
  • Silent H is a popular celebration spot — book a dinner table for the group and head to Aitch after.
  • Bottle service is available for restaurant tables and at Aitch.
  • For larger gatherings, the Aitch space and the main dining room can be booked out for private events.
  • Submit the form with your date and headcount and we'll help coordinate it.
Insider tips
  • Want the food experience? Book early — the room gets loud at peak.
  • Reviewers mention generous happy-hour deals earlier in the evening.
  • Silent H shares the 461 King West building with Paris Texas — they're separate venues; check which entrance you need.
  • Note the venue isn't fully wheelchair accessible — the washroom is in the basement, down stairs.
  • Closest TTC: the 504 King streetcar stops outside; St. Andrew Station is the nearest subway.

About Silent H & the Aitch club

An upscale Mexican restaurant on King West with a hidden club downstairs.

Silent H sits at 461 King Street West, in a large King West building it shares with Paris Texas — two separate venues at the same address. It opened from brothers Patrick and Nader Marzouk, who in 2022 set out to build a high-end Mexican restaurant that would stand apart from the city's taqueria-and-takeout norm. They found their chef through a friend's recommendation: Gerardo Álvarez Saucedo, a culinary specialist from Monterrey who prefers the title "Food Dealer." His menu is built around shareable, street-food-inspired plates — aguachile, rib-eye skewers, tuna tostadas, carnitas flautas, a whole grilled Cornish hen — presented as Mexican haute cuisine. "This isn't American Mexican," as Saucedo puts it.

The room is a statement. The former home of Rabbit! Rabbit! Rabbit! was transformed into something like a Mexican hacienda, with an archway modelled on the silhouette of a famous Mexican church, stained-glass windows, and stone Aztec angels. There's a live DJ in the main dining hall, an extensive tequila and mezcal program, and a theatrical cocktail list from mixologist Spencer Gooderham — the signature Deserted in Durango arrives garnished with a (safe, mezcal-infused) scorpion on edible sand, at around $32. As dinner moves on, the music climbs and the room takes on a livelier, late-night energy.

Aitch is the other half of the story. Downstairs, behind a discreet door, is a basement club-lounge named for the English spelling of the letter "H." It launched as a private speakeasy with its own mezcal and tequila bar, and now runs public DJ club nights — generally Friday through Sunday, leaning Latin house, with sets that typically start around 10pm. Outside those nights, Aitch is available for private bookings. The combination — excellent Mexican dinner upstairs, hidden Latin-house club below — is what makes Silent H a genuine all-in-one night out.
